Sucker Punched

If you attended our first stream on saturday 11.1, then you probably were left disappointed. As were we.

Streaming didn't go smooth. After swiftly resolving some network errors, the stream was running... like garbage, it was. So here's the explanation:

When we tested out if everything was working, we found no errors on my hardware or the network. "Great", I thought; "streaming is on!"

Unfortunately, as those present experienced, streaming wasn't on. With constant buffering and freezing issues, the stream was practically unwatchable. What had happened turned out to be a problem with the internet. Not our internet speed, which my laptop said to be 12mb/s, but our internet stability. We don't have a cable connection in our house (though we're getting one at the end of this month, praise be), and as a result we have what I would call 'flickering' internet. Every 10 milliseconds or so, the laptop receives a new "box of internet", rather than a constant flow of internet it can draw from. <= this is actually something very common in old hardware, and even how old lightbulbs would 'fake' appearing less bright; by flickering really fast.

But that doesn't help us today. There are 2 ways to solve this issue; have more stable internet, or just have... more internet, so the stability matters less. As I'm stuck at home for the weekends, there is no hope for it improving until next monday unfortunately (or at the end of this month praise be).

In the meantime, people can leave suggestions here for what game to make, so we can start working on a template and show that we DO want this to work (because we DO want this to work).

Sincerest apologies. Here is my sorry face (I saw puss in boots last night).
